Well Todd is home and doing fabulous. He came home a little earlier then expected but after talking to his Mission President I found out what a remarkable missionary Todd was. For those of you who are curious as to why Todd came home early....Let me assure you it had absolutely nothing to do with anything that happened in the mission field.
Todd came home on New Year's Day (Thursday), took me to work on Monday in Gunnison, UT drove to Ephraim, UT (about a 1/2 hour drive) to see what he would have to do to enroll at Snow College, and put in applications for work. Well, turns out he enrolled that day (15 credits), found an apartment, and put in several applications and picked me up by 5:00pm.. THEN he started school the very next day. Wednesday he got hired on at a job within walking distance of his house. Good things happen when you serve the Lord.
So as far as this blog is concerned, I probably won't be entering any more. But I plan on setting up another Blog for our family. So Thanks for visiting our Blog and sharing with me Todd's Missionary Adventure.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
This was a very merry Christmas for Todd's family!!!!! We got to talk to Todd Christmas day and he sounded fabulous :). He is serving in Wolf Point, MT it is a Native American reservation (Sioux). He has made many friends and loves the experience. His companion is elder Craig and they work very well together. Here are a couple of pictures of Todd playing Santa Clause which I personally think he is the cutest Santa ever.
It is very cold where Todd is with the wind chill it has gotten down to -50 degrees....brrrrrrr!!!!!!But he and his companion are troopers and the cold doesn't slow them down.
Well, that's about if for now....don't forget to stay tuned for next weeks episode of Todds Missionary Adventure

WAS MY FACE RED!!!!!!!
Here is Todd's weekly e-mail...Enjoy
Hey Family,
How is everything doing? Well SO I heard that it snowed down in Vegas, Wow. That's cool. Guess what... it has snowed here too. In fact the other day it was a full out blizzard and it got down to -50F with wind chill. It was so cold. It hasn't been above the negatives for a while now. We actually went out trackting in it and my companion Elder Craig had been outside once that morning and said that it was cold but that the sun really helped to warm you up. So we went out in just suits no jackets nothing to protect our heads or faces or anything. We were so cold, in fact Elder Craig thought his ear was going to fall off. I have never been so cold in my life. We have to go warm up the car 30 min. before it's time to leave so that we won't die from hypothermia. But you know what I love it. It's so much fun.
Ok so here are some really awkward moments this week. So we went to this investigators house. Sue (name has been changed for privacy matters) we knocked on the door and this girl (what we thought was a girl) opens the door (we'll call her Lafanda). The first thing she says is "What are you boys out looking so sexy for?" We had no idea what to say. Sue told us to come in and said "Don't mind HIM, HE is drunk!" We were shocked a gay guy who looks like a girl just totally hit on us. So not cool. But thats about it actually.
Well family it's that time again to call home and get all trunkie. So I need you all to tell me where I can get a hold of you so I can just talk for a couple mins to each. You know the routine. But I need phone numbers and where you're going to be and when to call. I really need phone numbers because I can't remember any of them at all. Sorry. Just don't. None. Maybe one but I don't know whos it is. 17 months does that to you. Sorry.
Well I love you all, I hope that all goes well.
Love,
Elder Carp
Remember everyone Todd would rather you give the money you would spend on him and give to someone who is needy this Christmas. Todd is doing great and has proved to be a truly unselfish, servant of the Lord. Remember to Stay tuned for next weeks episode of Todds Missionary Adventure

Glorious CHRISTmas!!!
Hey Family,
What a glorious CHRISTmas season we are in. The trees are going up, the lights are coming out the snow is falling down. I am sick of all that snow. I hate it! I know that God made all things to beautify the world and to bring us joy but you know what I am just not sure if that was one of them. Yes it is pretty and yes it is really fun to play in, but guess what!!! I don't get to play in it, so I don't like it. Yes Give me a couple months after my mission I'll love it again but not right now. So onto a better topic.
Wolf Point MT, is such a wonderful place. It is really a neat place to be. Lots of really nice people and a lot of really humble people. You if you have never been able to live on a reservation you are really missing out. We are teaching a bunch of people right now. In fact we just got 3 new investigators last night. And one of them has a family of 12. We will be doing a lot of focusing on them. We also have been trying to talk to everyone and trying to share with them a message about this wonderful season that we are in.
Here in WolfPoint there are about 400 members and about 40 are active. So we have a lot of Activation that we are trying to do. There are a lot of really good people here and we have a lot of work to do. President Fisher our mission President says that out of all the areas in our mission this is the one that he loves the most and the one that if he could assign himself to go, this would be it. I am starting to understand why he has said that. I hope that I can be a good servant of God and to help the work Progress up here.
This last week we had an opportunity to go to a Zone Conference and hear from Elder Terrence Smith. He is our area 70. He talked all about our work here in the mission. He also had a lot to say about Christmas and the Christmas Spirit. What do you get if you take the last syllable off of "The Spirit of Christmas" You get "The Spirit of CHRIST" thats what we need to focus on this Season is Christ. What is the best Present that you can give this year? That is the present of Yourself. I wish that we would have that desire to give of themselves rather then that of no real spiritual worth. Visit a friend or see someone in need. A smile can go a long way. Do what you can to Cheer someone up. I know that the lord will bless you as you do this.
I love you all so very much and I am so excited that this will be my last Christmas away from all of you, but at the same time I am also very sad because of it too. I love this work I love my savior and I love His children. I pray that you will all feel that way too.
Love,
Elder Carp

New Location WolfPoint, MT
Looks like Todd is going to spend Thanksgiving in his new area WolfPoint, MT. He is now serving on an Indian Reservation. Here is his weekly e-mail....Enjoy
Hey Family,
Well guess what, I just got transferred. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I love Cody Wy so much. I really miss the people there. You just fall in love with them so fast and then you have to leave and it's the hardest thing ever. But I have to be a man about it and work hard in this new area. I am serving up here in WolfPoint Mt.
So it is really cold and really flat. We saw a dog start to run away when I got here and 2 days later I could still see him running. But no it's way cool. We are on a Indian Reservation so I get to know the Lamanite people. President Fisher loves them so much and I can kinda see why. Really nice people. My companion is named Elder Craig. He is from Denver Colorado. He is really big into music and is pretty cool.
Well Family I will write more when I can get to know the area better. Thank you for everything. I love you all very much.
Love,
Elder Carp
Well that's it for this week. Stay tuned for more of Todd's missionary Adventure. Don't forget Christmas is coming I'm sure Todd would love to hear from you.

Warm in Cody, Wyoming!!!!!!
We finally got an e-mail from our missionary. Christmas is just around the corner everyone so if you are going to send Todd a package please be mindful of a few things.
1. Todd has a companion if you send goodies remember to send enough for both.
2. Send all packages by regular mail to the address at the top of the blog. NO UPS
3. Remember when you buy for Todd he moves frequently so don't buy big things that are hard to pack around.
Now onto his weekly e-mail: enjoy
Hey Family,
Well All is still going good here. I am loving Cody for the little time that I have it left. Transfers are comming up this weekend and I have no idea what is going on. I love it here so much and I really want to stay but at the same time I have been here for a really long time. What ever the Lord wants me to do I will go and do. But I pray that it is to stay here.
So guess what we have got 5 progressing investigators and 2 that will soon be progressing. Stacy Hellman is praying about a baptismal date as well as Amber Douglas. We have 3 new investigators Aaron and Giselle Hughs who are doing really well. And A lady named Jakie Philips who was Catholic but now wants to become Mormon. The other two are a couple. The husband's name is J.R. and works for a member and his wife I have not met yet. But all is going really well.
No you guys think that it's getting cold you have no idea.... Two nights ago it was 61 degrees f. It has been so warm here. We are still no coats and sleeves rolled up. It's so wierd. I don't belive anyone who says that Wyoming has bad winters. I also am praying that the cold stays away.
Well Family I hope that this letter is good enough for you. I appreciate the prayers and the love. The only thing that I could possible use at this time would be more white shirts and socks. You can never have too many socks.
I love you all.
Love,
Elder Carp
